Practice saying No - Banned from complaining

Hello Cashflow Hackers

Warm welcome our new members!

I’m struggling to write this Newsletter every week trying to find my voice and my format for it.

There’s always a resistance force even for you to do something that will be good for you. And there’s always something satisfying about doing something you know that it will be bad for you.

Build in public

I’m practicing saying “No”. It’s the hardest practice but I have to get better at it. Growing up in Vietnam, I’m very used to say Yes to everyone and trying to make everyone to like me.

Spending 7 years in Korea is about the same, Korean people has a term “seeing people’s eyes” means you have to guess about what people want and do it. 😂

Coming to America in 2011, I couldn’t speak up in Meeting or react authentically in different situations at work or in personal life. Same with dating, my American then “boyfriends” found me not being straightforward about my feelings. 😅

Owning a business helped me grow in different ways, owning and in charge pushed me to own my own feelings and express them. I changed and became “no-filter”, I am honest all the time and it’s the easiest thing ever now. 😁

I said “No” to be a partner in the 16 unit deal that my last Newsletter mentioned. It was a good deal, it was the kind of deal I would do right away before. But not now, I remembered about my buy box and how I want to grow up doing bigger deals. 16 unit deal with a few partners is too small for me now. I do have bigger and better deals on my desk and my focus is on whatever makes money lower risk higher return for my investors.

So I’m going to introduce a new deal soon. I’m currently talking to a team whose I admire and really want to work with, hopefully I can join that dream team! 🫰🏼

Book Corner

This week I was listening to “The Youtube Fomulas” book and then re-read “The Magic of Thinking Big”.

I picked up this book thanks to Tim Ferriss’ recommendation. Reading it again made me think: Oh I’m really doing these things now. I’m a big thinker already but I need to push even more forward.

I’ll share some of my favorite lines here:

“When asked, “What are you doing?” the first bricklayer replied: “Laying brick.” The second answered: “Making $9.30 an hours.” and the third said, “Me? Why, I’m building the world’s greatest cathedral.”

Now the story doesn’t tell us what happened to these bricklayers in later years, but what do you think happened?” 😌

“Give yourself a pep talk several times daily. Build a sell-yourself-to-yourself” commercial. Remind yourself at every opportunity that you’re a first-class-person.”

Like this:

“Sophie Nguyen - Meet Sophie - an important, a really important person. Sophie, you’re a big thinker, so think big. Thing Big about Everything. You’ve got plenty of ability to do a first-class job, so do a first-class job.

Sophie, you believe in Happiness, Progress, and Prosperity. So: talk only Happiness, talk only Progress, talk only Prosperity.

You have lots of Drive, Sophie, lots of drive.

So put that Drive to work. Nothing can stop you, Sophie, nothing.

Sophie, you’re enthusiastic. Let your enthusiasm show through.

You look good, Sophie, and you feel good. Stay that way.

Sophie Nguyen, you were a great person yesterday and you’re going to be even greater person today. Now go to it, Sophie. Go forward!!“

Experimenting

Physical experiment:

So I tried the Lifeforce 40 markers test and got the results. It showed that I have a lightly elevated blood sugar, lightly elevated cholesterol (LDL), very low testosterone, low vitamin D and low small red blood cell (which I know and it’s genetic).

I got a health coach (doctor) consultation scheduled through LifeForce and decided to buy this type of blood test for all adult members of my family. My husband found a cheaper service and on top of that you can get a 20% discount which made it less than $300 to do this blood test.

For low testosterone, I’m taking pomegranate juice 1 cup a day, people said it will increase my testosterone level in 14 days. For vitamin D, cholesterol and blood sugar, I will start taking stuffs from Blueprint:

  • A supplement drink

  • A protein meal

  • 8 daily pills

  • Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I’ll update you guys on how it goes!

Mental experiment:

I had a talk with my husband about how complaining about certain people and things at work created negativity without any solutions to resolve things. I told him I just want to hear things about him and how he resolve things, his action and decision.

So… that’s it, my beloved husband now is officially on a complaining diet. He is kinda banned from complaining about work with me now. 😊

I think my mom also gets a vibe from me about her complaining about her health or talking negatively about some neighbors she doesn’t know as well. 😄

Words have so much power.

When we say uplifting words, our world are instantly brighter!

When we leave ugly things behind and refuse to repeat those, just great things are left here and now with us.

I’ll update you guys on how it goes! 😉

Some people who got banned from spreading negativity are here

Again, please forward this to anyone you think would enjoy this.

Cheers,

Sophie
